Even in a complete sterile condition, all of the ulcers may be contaminated with bacteria, but a few of them progress and cause clinical manifestations. There is a controversy on the use prophylactic antibiotics in traumatic ulcers. In this study we compare the effi...
متن کاملPreventing Traumatic Urinary Catheter Insertion Through a Computerized Ordering System: Quasi-experimental Study From a Tertiary Academic Center
Background: Iatrogenic urethral injury is a well-known risk of urinary catheter insertion. Associated morbidities include stricture formation, catheter associated infection, risk for instrumentation, and extended length of stay. Yet, insufficient attention is paid to its prevention. متن کاملCutaneous infection caused by Gordonia amicalis after a traumatic injury.
Gordonia amicalis infection has never been reported in humans. We report here the first case of G. amicalis-related cutaneous infection after a traumatic injury. The isolate was confirmed by 16S rRNA sequencing analysis, and the patient responded well to repeated debridement and antibiotic treatment.
متن کاملComparison of Connective Tissue Growth Factor Expression in Urethral Stricture Patients due to Infection and Trauma with IHC and ELISA Methods
Objectives: We look for the difference of CTGF expression in urethral stricture due to infection and trauma with Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Enzymelinked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) methods. Methods: We measure the CTGF level from 5 urethral stricture tissue of patient with infection, 18 patients with traumatic urethral stricture. We used IHC and ELISA as method of CTGF measurement. We also ...
متن کاملComparison of CSF parameters between traumatic and nontraumatic puncture in term versus preterm neonates

Although normal values are well established for CSF cell counts and protein and glucose contents in children and adults, this is not the case for neonates. The purpose of this st...
